• Reverend Daniel E. Grams, Pastor

    Reverend Daniel Grams came to Ascension of Christ in September 2013 as Pastor. Pastor Grams was born and raised in Detroit. Before accepting the call to Ascension of Christ, he served congregations in New Jersey and Wisconsin. He is a 2002 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Pastor Grams married his wife, Susan, in 1998. Susan teaches 1st grade at St. John Lutheran School in Fraser, Michigan. They have four children who attend Lutheran schools.  

  • Trina Stewart, Child Care Program Director

    Katrina Stewart comes to Ascension with over 16 years of experience in the Early Childhood field. She ran an accredited in-home program for seven years in order to be home with her four children. She worked for the YMCA as the Director of School Age Child Care, Summer Camp, and Youth and Family Director. Immediately prior to her employment at Ascension, Trina served as the Center Director of Kinder Care Learning Center in Ann Arbor. Trina holds an associate's degree in Child Care and Development from Schoolcraft College and is completing her bachelor of science degree in Early Childhood Studies at Rochester College. "I believe the work that is done early in a child’s life sets the foundation for all of their future endeavors. My prayer is that the Ascension Early Child Care Center reaches many families in the community and becomes known for providing excellent care in a small, nurturing, Christ-centered environment while sharing the message of God's love for all."   • Mary Lou Lohr - Music Director

    Mary Lou Lohr has served as music director and organist at Ascension of Christ since 2010, having been involved in church music nearly all of her life.  She is active in the Detroit classical music world, singing with the Detroit Lutheran Singers as well as being a member of both the Lutheran Church Musicians Guild and the Detroit chapter of the American Guild of Organists.  She has a great love of sacred music, especially the great musical heritage of the Lutheran church, and strives to enhance worship with strong Scripturally based music with both the choir and handbells.  If you have interest in joining one or more of our musical groups or just have questions about the musical life of the church.
